This position is the Systems Administrator - VMware and Windows, and is part of the IT Technical Team. This position is responsible for the setup and maintenance of Windows Servers running in a VMware environment. This position will be required to learn and achieve proficiency with VMWare in a reasonable amount of time. The correct candidate should be prepared to start as an experienced Windows server administrator and have the drive to quickly grow in skill and experience such that he or she will be competent to make VMware design related recommendations to better meet ever changing business needs. This position will work closely with all other parts of the IT department and is expected to participate in numerous and varied projects acting in the role as technical subject matter expert while working with a diverse team. Most importantly this position needs to be a self-starter who wants to become very strong technically and is willing to invest the time necessary to become a VMware expert capable of troubleshooting complex issues.
Duties/ Responsibilities, Core Knowledge:
Manage VMware infrastructure for Corporate including Performance tuning, capacity planning, managing clusters of ESX Servers and policy creation.
Provide administration support for Active Directory, Windows Servers.
Development and maintain patch/upgrade strategy related to all technical components of ESX and windows Servers aligning with industry best practices.
Build and run scripts to manage/automate tasks related to VMWare and Windows platforms. Participate in after-hours support requirements as determined by business emergency requests.
Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation related to supported environment. Supports technical components of windows-based applications, including but not limited to Oracle BPM (Hyperion planning), SunGard GETPAID, READSOFT, etc.
Setup and configure Servers, network printers, Switches.
Resolve escalated issues from Support Desk.
Actively monitor IT maintained systems and applications.
Develops, maintains and participates in efforts related to disaster recovery planning, documentation and testing.
Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems related to the specific application suite.
Assists in application project work, including systems analysis, design and Scripting language programming tasks related to enhancements, interfaces and special reporting requirements, etc.
Assists in the review and maintenance of Sarbanes/Oxley and internal audit compliance documentation and policy review related to application suite.
Coordinates/directs the activities of work teams on a project basis. Team members may be other IT staff, outside contractors, technicians, etc.
Trains and assists IT staff in the proper use of IT tools and utilities related to Hyperion application suite. This effort will ensure additional support coverage for vacation and training periods.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum 3 years experience in server administration.
Minimum 3 years of systems management, support and design.
Minimum 1 year experience operating and supporting UNIX or Linux.
Working on Servers requires close inspection of equipment often with small font labels.

Qualifications:
Highly knowledgeable and skilled in one or more of the following in each category:
Operating Systems: Windows 2008 (and higher), VMWare ESXi 5 (and higher).
Systems Skills:
- Working knowledge of MS Active Directory.
- Working knowledge of storage solutions: SAN, NAS and DAS.
- Working knowledge of network: DNS, CIFS, DHCP.
- Working knowledge of MS-SQL 20xx server.
- Working knowledge of Web application Servers - Oracle and Apache Tomcat.
- Proven experience in Shell Scripting (windows and/or bash-like).
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, setup and tools.
System Tools: MS-IIS web server, MS performance tools, Java Run-Time environment, strong skills in Microsoft's office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Proficiency with at least one Scripting language.
- Working knowledge of PC and PC-LAN computing environment.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP and networking hardware.
Other Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge and understanding of business operations.
Working knowledge of disaster recovery concepts and practices.
Proficiency in analysis and design techniques.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new IT skills and concepts.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
