Hathaway Brown School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Upper School Head Cross Country Coach to lead and inspire our student-athletes.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for coaching, a commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive team culture.
Responsibilities:
1.
Coaching:
? Develop and implement effective and age-appropriate training programs.
? Instruct student-athletes on the fundamentals, strategies, and rules of Cross Country.
? Foster a positive and competitive team environment.
2.
Player Development:
? Provide individualized feedback to runners for improvement.
? Support runners in setting and achieving personal and team goals.
? Encourage a commitment to academic success and sportsmanship.
3.
Program Administration:
? Coordinate practice schedules, game schedules, and team logistics.
? Collaborate with the athletic department on program development and enhancement.
? Attend school and athletic department meetings as required.
4.
Communication:
? Maintain open and transparent communication with runners, parents, and school administrators ? Provide regular updates on team progress and achievements.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid coaching certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Background check clearance.
- Availability for afternoon practices and evening meets during the Cross Country season.
