The Accounting and Tax Services (ATS) Department focuses on the financial and tax needs for closely-held businesses and their owners.
A Supervisor is responsible for working collaboratively with clients, partners and staff to provide comprehensive accounting and tax advisory/compliance services.
They are also responsible for the training and supervision of junior staff which provides an outstanding opportunity to develop leadership skills and accelerate career advancement.
A flexible work schedule is available for this position which can be conducted on-site or through a hybrid remote model.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Technical Performs diversified accounting, and tax assignments under the direction of manager and /or partner Performs review of various engagements such as workpapers for both tax preparation and compilations, financials statements and payroll filings Serves as a technical resource for accounting staff and interns Conducts moderate to complex accounting research Collaborates with firm colleagues to conduct tax planning for individual and business clients Has a thorough understanding of GAAP, other comprehensive bases of accounting, accounting principles and financial statement presentations Preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements A strong working knowledge of QuickBooks software Supervisory Delegates work to accounting staff and interns Supervises accounting staff and interns; defines expectations and performance indicators Participates in firm wide and ATS department administrative projects Acts as key client contact person for assigned engagements Fosters and exemplifies collaborative working relationships with all firm staff members Assists with training of other ATS department or firm accounting personnel Assists in the development and growth of junior staff Develops a network of industry peers and business contacts, meets with prospective clients, and cultivates referral business QUALIFICATIONS At least five to six years' experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in knowledge and depth of understanding in various areas of accounting Bachelor or master's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university CPA license COMPETENCIES Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to meet client and compliance deadlines Self-directed and self-motivated work ethic that contributes to the client service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround and attentive service Works with an entrepreneurial approach to client service while building positive working relationships with clientele Proven leadership qualities that demonstrate strong relationship building, integrity, problem-solving and dependability Comfortable with preparing and presenting workshops, seminars and training sessions to both internal and external audiences Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain current and effective communication with partners, staff and clients Job Type:
